The Last Day of School

Time does fly. today is the last day of school for semester 3 and my exam officially starts on the 10th and finishes on the 17th of June, 5 papers altogether so yay, i am pretty much stuffed. last day of school always doesn't feel right. you have to say good bye with your PBL mates who you saw at least twice a week who you might never talk to again in the rest of your course. it makes me sad when a friendship changes from pretty good to hi and bye. and all the lectures and anatomy prac that we had. i always enjoy the learning because we have really enthusiastic and knowledgable and at times humorous lecturers and tutors, it just makes everything work. and despite the fact that HP EBP is a pain in the ass, i think it is really really useful and i just adore our lecturers because no matter how uninterested the students are, and how they disrespect (i.e. leaving the lecture half way matter of factly, flying paper plane from the back of the lecture, laugh out loud in the lecturer like there is no body's business, ya - persumably intellectual medical students do brainless stuffs too, and i qoute a monash med student "they will do with a personality transplant"), the lecturers carry on with their teaching, no tantrum, no nagging, no threatening and no leaving the ungrateful students unattended. and seeing that now i am in a very sentimental condition, i shall talk more about the our very enthusiastic teaching staffs of sem 3.
  1. Jenny Hayes - Sem 3 coordinator and anatomy lecture. She is well known in med school and everyone LOVES her because she is funny, female, and has much better figure than most of the girl does ... and most importantly, she simplifies stuffs. Jenny will keep on repeating what she just said (avearge 3 times) so that everyone can jot down everything she said. and she has her unique psychological approach to tame down the wild and ego medical students. "I know that this has been a hard week for you and I am really reluctant to burden you with anymore information but......." "It is very impressve of you guys for being able to cover the anatomy of the upper limbs, the lower lims, the spine of the back and the neck in only 4 weeks and still understand them so well. The physio spent the whole last semester doing the same thing....." you get what i mean? oh ya, and Jenny likes anatomy SO MUCH she will say stuffs like " imagine that i am a testes..." "and can you see how beautifully these muscles are placed side by side to each other..." "it makes prefect sense doesn't it..." she is an awesome lecturer =D
  2. James Ziagos - Sem 3 coordinator and a pharmocology lecturer. I can't really remember much of his stuffs because pharmocology and me don't click but he did make pharmocology understandable. and i am amazed of how he could remember how every single drugs work for different heart problem. (i suddenly remember him because he was there at our last lecture)
  3. Peter Greensburg - HP EBP critical appraisal lecturer, aka father of EBP in Australia (evidence based practice) I really wonder why people dislike him that much. people keep on complaining that his lecture slides are too detail and it's like an essay and that everything he said is in the notes. i don't understand, when there is no notes, people ask for notes, and when there is, they say it's too detail, don you feel happy that you don't have to jot down notes like mad during lectures.
  4. Lyle - HP EBP stats lecturer. people don't like him because they don't understand what he said but i have to say this, he knows his stuff really really well. he speaks math. and i really like him. i know i am a weirdo.
  5. Christen - THE X-ray guy. very friendly, a little funny and extremely indulge in imaging. let me show you his way of explaing the iliac crest of women "they are smoother, less angulated and just so elegant..." i never know that a bone itself can be elegant
  6. Chris Brigg - Anatomy lecture, the bone and spine and joints experts. he makes people laugh and even though his lecture slides are all over the place, he delivered his lecture in the make-sense-way
enough of that. what i am trying to say is that, it's not easy but i've enjoyed the course so much. i have 14 weeks of lecture with the average of 6 CRL lectures and one HP lecture each week to cover, that make it 98 lectures, i have 14 weeks PBL cases to study, i have 6 anatomy pracs, 4 histopracs, and a few pharmaco pracs to do, including some HP tutorial works and practices, past year papers and i have only got 10 days for all of that. It's time to do some hard core studying and hopefully i will able to cover them all. *take a deep breath in*
*
okie dokie, the war has begun! good luck to all my friends in their studies and GOOD LUCK to me!
