50th AMSA Convention - Take 2

Why Take 2 you wonder. it can be interpreted in a couple of ways. For instance, it takes 2 melb med students to paint brsbane pink OR this was my second AMSA Convention, which it's not. I was a Virgin Delegate as one of the returning Delegates put it. Well reason behind this is, listen close. this is my second attempt to post my AMSA entry. I spent 8 hrs on the previous one, including 7 days in a post and one wrong button, everything was gone. i am not joking. so, having learnt my lesson in the HARD way, i decided to seperate my AMSA convention into 7 little posts.

okay i am done with the housekeeping so let's shake it up!
************************************

this was what happened, mel and me were on the same flight from Sinagpore to Melbourne on the Friday. We arrived in Melbourne on Saturday morning, spent our day unpacking our stuffs from Malaysia and repacking our stuffs for Brisbane. We met up again on Sunday morning at 6.30 a.m., dragged our luggages to a bus stop 50 m away from my place, took an one hour bus ride to Avalon Airport, took a 2 hrs Jetstar flight, and arrived at Brisbane at 11 a.m.

*

i din know where we got our energy from. honestly

*
our first stop was the Hilton Hotel
where we registered and got our almighty name tag
and life saver brouchure
a.k.a. THE passport.
what a name
and the official AMSA T-shirt.
I haven't got a chance to wear it yet but i will wear it soon. it costs me $20.00 ok? lol
and this is part of Hilton (which we actually din have access to) :p
*
2nd stop
The Festival Tower
where we spent the remaing 7 nights at.
it was a service apartment
a very nice and homey place
with a balcony that make you smile everytime you walk out from your room in the morning. I love our accomodation but i am pretty convinced that the residents there HATED us. because we jammed up their lifts. and some of the students were pretty loud and noisy when they were drunk. (which is like you know, every night)
we had lunch at this cafe in the middle of queen street mall
and people meet mel, my beloved AMSA-Uni-Makan-Buddy
*
and of course AMSA is famous of it's Social Events. and in fact, many people went to AMSA just for the Clubbing at nights and when i say these people party hard, they really REALLY do.
*
Sunday Night
Theme: Garden of Eden
Venue: The Met
most of the people were 90% naked. those mad med students really went all out for their costumes.
is it just me or those things do look like those really hard to swallow encapsulated antibiotic tablets?
we had the entire clubs all to ourselves
and just look at how congested the dance floor was
these people are really really really mad
and of course, we saw people making out everywhere too. we actually gave up counting how many couples were making out because we simply lost count.
*
there were buses fetching us to and fro between the clubs and our accomodation every night and mel and me were always on the first bus back. we are nerdy that way :)
*
i was more excited in seeing what's in the goody bag than spending time in an overcrowded club with techno music banging in the background =.=
so this is what u normally see in a goody bag
information booklets
pens and highlighter and errr heart strengtening pills
and condoms?
oh right, health practitioners campaign for the practice of safe sexual contact.
