and so i thought

i was pretty certain that i wouldn't miss home this time round, seeing that this year is officially my 5th year in Melbourne. or so i thought.

i was doing my literature review (i was pretending to) on my flight back to melbourne, and i heard the girl sitting beside me silently sobbing when the plane took off from Changi Airport. and i think "awww, poor girl." and in some weird way, i feel very proud of myself. when the fasten ur seatbelt sign went off (well u know i always ALWAYS follow the rules), i retrieved a packet of tissues from my bag which was tucked under the seat, and gave it to her. and very wisely, i said "don't worry about it, i have been there before." and so i made a new friend. and i feel like i have grown. or so i thought.

today is my third day in melbourne, the weather is nice, the people at work are nice, my friends are awesome as always but i think i miss home, i miss my family, i miss my house, i miss every bits of it, and dang i even miss driving.

really, there is no where like home.

mind you, i am not emo. emo is not in my dictionary. ELizabeth Gilbert once mentioned that emotions are the slave of ur thoughts, and people are the slave of emotions. I have great thoughts, that's why i am not emotional, and that's why i am not a slave. make sense? well have a think about it :P

Summer Break

i have been home for a week.
i haven done much *duh*
but it was by far, the most happening week for the past year :p
yes my life is very predictable that way :)

first week at home

gee i have not blogged for more than half a month, and nope i am not busy, it was just pure laziness =p. now it's time for a little update. first week was kind of simple, we came to office on week days and during weekend, we went shopping or to be more precise, we spent =D there are too much to be told so i shall start with my hair, which i had been complaining since months ago.
haircut
i have my hair cut twice in 3 days and that was ridiculous. i had my first hair cut on thursday, our usual hair stylist and i was pretty contended with the outcome.
and on saturday, we went to another place near our house where mum and brother usually go to do our hair treatment. and after all the washing, steaming, the hair dresser told me that he was going to trim my hair a little and i emphasized that only a wee bit cause i've just had it cut 2 days ago BUT he literally chopped my hair ==" now my hair is so thin and light and hard to maintain *argh*
yes i am pissed!
and for my little brother, his hair is okie~ he was really funny though, look at his facial expression, it looks that he was having his hair plucked rather than cut =="

after that, we went over to butterworth to have lunch with mum. i have to say that sis is a highly skilled driver *thumbs up* it is good to not have to drive =p. on the way...

after lunch, we went to gurney plaza to do "some" shopping. we bought zhung ee a couple of jeans so that he won freeze his butt of when we go to japan this saturday. and for sis and me, ahem, let's have the photos do the talking:-

on sunday morning, we went yumcha together! it has been a routine for us to have breakfast at shangrila everytime we go home, the food is not very nice but like dad said, it is the quality time we have that matters.

okok i know i was impulsive, i shouldn't have bought so many but i have huge feets and it is just so hard for me to find shoes of my size. and flats are hard to find as well since poeple nowadays are getting shorter and shorter and all prefer heels, and pretty flats are even harder to look for. and there are times when no matter how hard you try, you are still unable to find ONE pair of shoes that you like, that was what happened to me last time. enough of craps, i know i am bad but just to clarify, my flats ain't expensive =D

Onde-Onde

i tried making onde-onde (orange one) before in Melb on the Mooncake Festival but i have been craving to make them again and to make them PURPLE. and so went i went to market with mum, i bought some purple sweet potatoes and fresh grated coconut.

the purple is very purple indeed, unbelievalble!

P.S. feel like i am wasting my time, i am looking to do some med-human-related work duirng this holiday but i am going nowhere. maybe i shall wait till i come back from japan, but seriously, i dun want to just slack through out my holiday.

pheyyee is back

phew~~~~~~ it's over.... at least for now. exam os over people and now i am at HOME!!! Sis and jess and ai ming are still in melbourne, studying and mugging for their exams. I am lucky since my exam ended very early!!!! this few days were kinda busy but stress-less :D oh ya, i have been learning to drive again since yesterday and i really sucks in driving. the car is FAT and LONG ==" but well, i am trying hard to get used to it !!! i'm tired...will post more tml... hopefully. needa bath now or else mum will kill me!!!!

~~~I am HOME~~~

i am home ~~~ i am home~~~ i reached penang international airport at 9.30 a.m. after a 7 hours flight from melb to singapore and one and a half hour flight from singapore to penang. yahoo~~~ i can't stop myself from laughing like an idiot when SQ 192 landed. :P by the way, my luggage came out quite late, me n sis were the latest to leave among those who came back in the same flight. *sigh* i will learn to be patient next time. okie, it's show time
Melbourne Airport all of us are going home on the same day. ivan was the only one heading to hong kong while others were heading to penang~~~

the 1st thing we did after we reached penang was to visit our grandma and pray our grandpa who had past away few months ago. Grandma is in good health :) after that we went to have out hair cut and i spent 4 hours sitting in the salon and have my hair washed @ rinsed @ whatever u name it for 3 times + treatment + reborn + cut.... and after that, we had steamboat for dinner. mom is the best chef in the world.

People who knows me well will know that i have passion in cooking and ESPECIALLY BAKING, coming back home is fun cause i can cook and bake at anytime and i don't have to clean up :) btw, i din mess up the kitchen, cause i know cleaning ain't easy :)

the 1st type of cake that i baked when i reached home was blueberry muffins. It is the easiest of all. My mission is to bake as many different types of cakes and breads and pastries as possible in these 2 months~~~ hopefully i can accomplish my mission:-
